DISTRICT AND HISTORY

A number of local elementary schools feed into Ishikidai. Ishikidai JHS serves the following areas：Ishiki-cho（Ishiki Elementary School）， Sennen 1-chome, and　2-chome（Keno Elementary School), and Shimo Ishiki-cho（Ishikidai Elementary School）． Ishiki New Town was originally a suburban farming village. In1950, the area was incorporated　into Kagoshima Cjty. Recently, the area has become more developed and populated. Responding to this movement toward becoming　a satellite residential community．Ishikidai JHS was founded in 1994 to serve the immediate area.
